UTFLYKTER

Utflykter för att upptäcka många platser i Paris, för att se de magnifika Loire slott, att gå till Mont Saint-Michel ... Vi kan föreslå dig många olika slags utflykter!

In 1865, Baron Haussmann was commissioned by Napoléon III to "modernise" the city to herald a new era of Parisian urbanism. Haussmann decided to group together the slaughterhouse and the livestock market in Paris at la Villette. The site was inaugurated in 1867 but after economic problems, the whole complex closed in 1974.

In 1982 the Swiss-born French landscape architect Bernard Tschumi won a competition to redesign la Villette. His project aimed to transform the location into a meeting-point of arts and sciences, urbanism and lifestyle. In 1985, the transformation began with the opening of La Géode, France’s largest movie theatre. Designed by Adrien Fainsilber and Gérard Chamayou, the theatre boasts a 1000m2 hemispherical dome screen. The following year, Fainsilber and Chamayou went on to design the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie.

Visitors to the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie can explore astronomy at its fascinating planetarium, or enjoy the awesome spectacle of a film screening at La Géode. Thrill-seekers can even watch movies in 3D on the giant IMAX 180° screen!
